The American Bankruptcy Institute said that consumer bankruptcy filings in the first half of 2009 are higher than at any point since bankruptcy reform in 2005, and are on pace to hit levels seen before the legislation passed.
And this:
If the current pace continues, more than 1.3 million consumer bankruptcies will be filed this year, a level that hasn’t been seen since 2005, a record-breaking year for consumer bankruptcy protection requests.

Bankruptcy is one of the great challenges we are facing now. I always say to my self to be optimistic. It is not easy but it is better than dwelling to worries and negative thoughts.
I think that bankruptcies are bound to increase this year due to the big bust we have experienced, but i do think that the later half of the year may start to see numbers levelling off
Actually this is due to the regression of the world economy. Not only in the USA but, this has happened throughout the world. Many Giants have fallen down.A recovery can be made by consulting the professionals. California Chapter 7 bankruptcy attorneys are highly recommend.
