Thanks for the link to the article on bankruptcies in Cape Cod. Very alarming. The main industry on the Cape is probably tourism and fishing, right? I was a member of a task force in my city that also relied heavily on tourism and we were charged for researching viable alternatives in the face of hardships caused by economic downturns. The first household expenses to be curtailed always seemed to be in the recreational category and those cities that depend on tourism dollars will be hit hardest. I’m sure the fishing industry also faces some hardships, too, particularly with the dangers of a decreasing population of sustainable sea life to supply the market demands.
