A total of 18,793 hard-pressed consumers sought personal bankruptcy protection last year, a 71 percent increase over 2007, according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Is it a good idea to file for Bankruptcy? I thought it was a bad idea to do so. But yeah… with the economic crisis that is occurring, I wouldn’t doubt it, if by the middle of this year the Unemployment rate increases along with the Bankruptcy levels.
