For some bankruptcy lawyers in New Jersey, the new phrase being tossed around is apparently:

This is a trend we’ve reported on previously. A lot of bankruptcy lawyers are seeing increases in their work now that the economy has slowed down & more people are filing for Chapter 7/13 bankruptcy…

A long time ago, some countries would put debtors in prison if they didn’t pay back their debts.
Do they exist now? Not officially in the U.S.
But, this Business Week article posits that there may be “debt prisoners” today depending on how you look at it.
