Will Bankruptcy Filings Jump If The Law Is Changed?

Is there going to be a spike in bankruptcy filings?

More than 1 million households would benefit from seeking protection from creditors under a proposed law that would let bankruptcy judges modify mortgage terms, the Congressional Budget Office said.

    I am not sure that bankruptcy should be as easily accessible as it is at the moment. Whatever happend to bankruptcyh being a stigma, which then led to people being more careful. That is not to say that all people are in a financial mess because they caused it, but a large proportion are.
